French culture is very family oriented, and a move to the country has increasing appeal for those with young children.

Wherever you are in France, you are sure to find numerous activities for your family to enjoy.

Of course one of the most obvious family-friendly activities in the country is a trip to Disneyland Park, Paris! Open since 1992, the park is the most visited theme park in Europe and is of course part of the well-loved Walt Disney franchise. Paris itself is also home to a number of well-known monuments - the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum and the cathedral of Notre-Dame to name but a few.

Another popular location for children is the Haribo museum in
Uzès in the
South of France, which offers an insight into the history of sweet production.

The monastry and town of Mont-Sait-Michel are always popular with families, due to its fairy-tale like appearance and the fact that it is located on a tidal island in Normandy.

Children will also enjoy a visit to France Miniature in Élancourt, France - a scaled down version of around 160 major French monuments and landmarks, approximately correlating with their real locations in the country. France Miniature is owned by Grévin & Cie, who also own Park Astérix, a theme park based on the stories of Asterix in Plailly, northern France.

Of course, across the country there are a plethora of zoos, aquariums, water parks and other family-friendly places popular with expats, tourists and the French themselves. Upon arrival in your new home town you will be able to find out about the local places popular with your new neighbours.
